Just a place for me to think aloud

Hi, I'm Cherokee welcome to my page devoted to thinking aloud about the things that are going on in my life. Guess you might like to know a little bit about me, well I hope you would anyway. Can't imagine reading someones page and not wondering where those words are coming from. It happened I am officially 39, funny but when I was 17 and my mom was 39 she seemed ancient. I feel vibrant, alive and wonderful. My family and I live in North Pole, Alaska settling in the Great White North after 20 years wandering around the world following the whims of the Air Force. North Pole is a wonderful, rural area 15 or so miles from Fairbanks. Last winter was mild it was 50 below zero for a couple of weeks only. Spring arrived last week in a rush, the alders, birch and willows turned that beautiful first flush of green all at once, changing the mountains from drab brown to glorious vibrant spring green. The wildflowers started blooming this weekend, glorious bluebells, sunny dandylions, and a sight straight from a Kansas hay field purple alfafa flowers. The alfafa are a reminder of home, my parents and most other relatives live in southeastern Kansas.

What Cherokee does to keep her thoughts peaceful
|
Hmmm peaceful state of mind, how did I find it. To be truthful the serenity and peace I have in life now I owe to many hours pouring my heart and soul out to a a mental health therapist on the island of Guam. When the Goddess looks over that mans list of good deeds she will see how one can truly help by simply listening. When I couldn't talk to anyone else, He listened without judging. As the bricks from the walls surrounding my emotions fell one by one the serenity I live in now filled the gaps. I owe Him a debt that can't be paid without also becoming a listener. I did that by manning a crisis hotline phone for two years. Letting others discuss their problems and perhaps being able to guide them to assistance helped me to see just how wonderful my life was and still is.<\p> I am a stay at home wife and mother. David and I have been married for 18 years, we are the proud parents of two sons 15 and 13. A year ago our family decided to help out a child that needed a safe, secure caring home, we became foster parents. That single decision has given each of us a sense of fulfillment. Our nine month old foster son has stolen our hearts in the six months he has lived with us. Becoming foster parents is one of the truly best things we have done, we recommend it checking with your state if you are curious. The children need safe secure homes, and families that will care for them and about them.<\p>
